Unión Deportiva Orotava es un club de fútbol de la Villa de La Orotava al norte de la isla de Tenerife (Canarias). Actualmente juega en Regional Preferente de Tenerife, pero es en la Tercera División donde ha disputado un mayor número de temporadas siendo uno de los principales equipos de la categoría pese a no disputarla desde 2001.

Historia

El club se fundó el 9 de marzo de 1923 con el nombre de Orotava Club de Fútbol.[1] En 1950 se fusionaron a él varios clubs del municipio en busca de conseguir un equipo fuerte y competitivo que representara a la ciudad norteña. Entonces cambió de nombre adoptando el actual Unión Deportiva Orotava. Fue uno de los equipos fundadores del Grupo XII de la Tercera División, de la cual fue campeón en la temporada 1993/94. A parte de el año de su título el Orotava consiguió meterce en los play off de ascenso en cinco ocasiones más, pero no consiguió el ascenso en ninguna de las seis.

El primer equipo de la Unión Deportiva Orotava juega sus partidos como local en el Estadio municipal Los Cuartos que tiene capacidad para 6.500 espectadores. En este estadio se disputa cada verano la final del trofeo estival más prestigioso de Canarias: el Trofeo Teide.[2]

Los equipos de la cantera disputan la mayoría de sus partidos en el Campo de fútbol del Mayorazgo y el Campo del Quiquira. En este último se disputan básicamente los partidos de Pre-benjamines, benjamines y alevín fútbol 7.

Uniforme

  • Local: la camiseta es blanca, el pantalón es blanco y las medias también son blancas.
  • Visitante: el uniforme visitante es completamente azul.
